Why We Chose Midnight Indigo

The color passed. The feel didn’t.

We placed two early wash panels side by side for the BF-110 Heritage Straight. The lighter wash had gone too far from the look we wanted. Midnight Indigo had the depth and restraint we were looking for, so we chose it as the wash direction for our first jean.

But choosing the color did not finish the job. The dark sample still felt too stiff in our hands. We asked for another round of softness work while keeping the Midnight Indigo color we approved. The right shade matters, but so does the way the denim feels when you wear it.

These photographs and video show development samples, not finished BF-110 jeans. Midnight Indigo is our chosen direction; the fabric and jean are still in development. We’ll review the next version before calling it ready.
